They are first to announce that spring is here. Many homeowners who prize a lawn untarnished by wild flowers will fight to control and remove the dandelion flower. They even call it a weed and think of it like a pest.
This flower is a source of food for bees. It is also a tasty treat to add to your salads. And best of all it is free. So consider this the next time you walk by a humble garden weed. It could be there to improve your landscape or provide you with a free snack.
