Planting trees is future oriented. People talk about hope a lot. Most people want the thing they hope for to come true. Elections are some humans (politicians) making promises to other humans (voters). Everyone at that point has a hope. The politicians hope the voters will believe their promises enough to cast a vote for them. Some politicians lie and so they were dishing out false hope.
With a garden, you are not only hopeful but are optimistically so. Trees have a proven track record from the beginning of the world. They are time-test, and earth approved. They work. When you plant a fruit tree, you create an optimistic hope that you will be enjoying fruit one day soon. And even if you never see that wonderful day, you will at least take comfort that your efforts will be there for future generations to enjoy.
That hope is nourished day by day as you see the plant growing. As you see the flower blossoms, that hope and anticipation builds. Yes, to live in hope when you plant a tree is a good way to life. Think about it!
